Parking Assignments

Please remember your lot name so that the Parking volunteers can direct you to it quickly and/or so that you can follow the signs to it.

To get to the lots, enter William B. Umstead State Park from HWY 70. Pass the Visitor Center on your right. Turn left onto Maintenance Rd. Turn right onto Group Camp Road (this is a dirt road). Group Camp road is fairly long and will eventually ascend to a T. You will see Parking Volunteers at this T. Turn left at the T and depending on your parking assignment, either head left again into Camp Crabtree or continue straight into Camp Lapihio.

• Please DO NOT arrive any earlier than 7:30 am.
• Please ARRIVE BETWEEN 7:30 -  8:30 am.

 There is no parking in Lot B this year. Lot B is a septic field. We have had a lot of moisture this winter, and the Park is very concerned about protecting the integrity of this area. DO NOT PARK IN THE SEPTIC FIELD.

Since the road to the headquarters is so narrow, all traffic is towards the headquarters up to 8:00. After the race starts, traffic is only allowed away from the headquarters. If your spectator takes your car out of your assigned lot to watch you elsewhere on the course, they must park at Camp Crabtree upon their return, i.e. they cannot go back to your assigned lot.

After your run, when you are driving away from the head quarters, PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE respect the runners who are still finishing. The road is narrow, so give the runners the right away - DO NOT force them into the ditch. The road is dirt, so GO SLOW so that you do not kick up dust that the runners to have to inhale.
